Three grades of silver-coated hollow glass spheres have been specifically developed to provide electrically conductive particles with an exceptionally low density. This enables high volume loadings to be achieved, which can deliver good electrical conductivity at relatively lower costs. These particles are also effective in a non-electrical application called Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), an optical technique used in diagnostics and research. Laser light illuminates the low-density silver-coated particles that act as tracers to measure fluid flow and velocity. Applications:
