Adding metallic pigments to organic-based materials to produce attractive decorative effects, dates back many centuries. These days, the most common application has been the use of aluminium flake pigments for metallic finishes on cars. Aluminium pigments, however, do not have good corrosion resistance and require a protective top-coat for external applications. For use in aggressive environments, coatings containing stainless steel flake are a well-proven alternative. For more information on Decorative Metallic Coatings, please contact us. |
