  • Silver-Coated Solid Glass Spheres

Silver-coated solid glass spheres are used in a wide range of applications across many technologies. Their versatility is demonstrated by the fact that no fewer than 20 different grades are available, with sizes ranging from 14 to 100 microns and silver contents from 2% to 40%.

Six products are classified as microspheres to assist with selection for use in certain applications where particle size is the most important requirement.

Applications:

  • EMI shielding
  • Conductive adhesives
  • Z-axis conductive films

Advantages:

  • Good conductivity
  • Regular spherical particle shape
  • Closely controlled range of particle size distribution
  • Low density compared to metal filler
  • Spherical shape gives good flow in injection moulding
  • Light colour
