Silver-Coated Glass Fibres

Four grades of silver-coated glass fibres are available with varying silver content and in lengths of either 130 or 180 microns. The diameter of the fibres is a standard 15 microns, which provides a very high aspect ratio.

This enables good conductivity values to be achieved at a lower particle loading. Combined with densities of less than 3.0g/cc, these silver-coated fibre products provide a considerable economic advantage.

Applications:

• EMI shielding in plastics
• Conductive adhesives and tapes
• Conductive paints and coatings

Advantages:

• Improves composite tensile strength
• Conductive at low filler loading, especially for tapes
• Can be combined with spheres to reduce filler loading
