Organic Hardening Agents

Organic hardening agents are used in a number of nickel electroforming processes. They produce nickel deposits with hardness values of up to 600HV, compared to only about 200HV that can be achieved with the pure metal.

Their concentration, however, must be carefully controlled as they affect deposit stress and the harder deposits they produce have reduced ductility.
