The newly developed range of Novamet Nickel-Coated Graphite particles are now becoming firmly established with companies located in the United States, Europe and Asia.
These products are manufactured entirely in-house, using a new proprietary process developed by Novamet chemical engineers at their plant in Lebanon, Tennesee.
This new process enables very tight control of the product properties to be achieved, resulting in close conformity between batches and reproducibility of in-service performance. The finished product demonstrates excellent surface coverage of the graphite substrate with nickel metal.
Novamet are currently concentrating on the industry standard grades of 60% Nickel and 75% Nickel, which have been widely used for conductive gasket manufacture since the early 1990s.
However, a further significant advantage of the new process is that it allows considerable flexibility to be exercised during the manufacturing route.
Consequently, Novamet are able to offer a degree of controlled variation in product properties, resulting in the availability of a number of different variations on the two main grades to meet specific customer requirements.
