Fuel cell technology has been an important area of research at the University of Birmingham for many years. This involvement was highlighted by the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Technical Conference 2016, organised by the University in Birmingham last week.
Green nickel oxide (NiO), the stoichiometric form of nickel oxide, has become one of the essential materials used in the manufacture of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. However, its physical characteristics have not, until now, been defined in detail.
During the conference, Hart Materials unveiled the results of a recent study to define the structure and particle size distribution of a number of different green nickel oxide products.
These results, not previously available in the public domain, are vital for companies involved in the research and manufacture of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells.
